Understanding American Subculture
Someone recently said I look like an Asian version of Louis Theroux. It got me thinking about his documentaries covering America and then, after a few searches, I realised that he wrote a book behind his TV series. My five minutes of fame also was a coincidence because I’ve thinking about buying both of Jacob [...]
Immersive images
Roger Ballen talks about photobooks from Jim Casper on Vimeo. Roger Ballen is old-school and in this video he makes some great points about the role books play in learning. I agree with him because paper adds a certain depth to photos that just cannot be recreated on the screen. I’m greedily building a beautiful [...]

Raving 89′
Pic by Gavin Watson, a masterpiece of low-light exposure balancing. Great set of rave pictures taken by Gavin and Neville Watson. This guy seems to have been at the centre of every other significant cultural movement in recent decades. If you like the music, Where were you in 92? by Zomby is worth a listen. [...]

Last weekend I visited the Tate Modern to see Bodyspacemotionthings but it wasn’t that exhibition that really inspired me. Instead it was the contact sheets taken by Robet Frank, for his iconic book: The Americans. Every [...]
The power of tagging
A seasonal post from me today… People often ask me why the hell they should bother tagging content? Lot’s of reasons for this and I could sit here and yammer on about tagging, taxonomies and folksonomies etc etc. Instead of me giving you guys a drawn out explanation I’ll let you do the reading into [...]

Street and Studio exhibition
It’s been a while since I picked up my SLR, and put it to worthy use. The Tate Modern has the Street and Studio exhibition on at moment and I cannot wait to go and see it. I hope it will drum up some inspiration and motivation. Go go check it out!
