  • Not really sure what difference Mandelson can make here. I can appreciate his "industrial activism" and "cash from clunkers" schemes, but his lobbying in front of a conglomerate like Kraft will have little influence.

    The other question is who is he talking to? Has he taken time to understand the profile of Cadbury shareholders? How many of them are likely to be interested in keeping Cadbury's British?

    Hard numbers nested within a business case, that prove the commercial benefits of keeping the company British, will ultimately be the tool that reels in tempted shareholders.
